The Journal of Scott Pendleton Collins is an adventurous book because it goes a lot of places like Virginia, Germany, and a house that is very old. This story takes place in Normandy, France 1944 – 2010. The main character is Scott Pendleton Collins. One problem the main character needs to overcome is to save a guy named Crockett, but he dies. I recommend this book to people who like adventurous books that go to a lot of places.

This book is about the Revolutionary War.  The people in this book live in Philadelphia when England attacks.  In this book I would describe the main character as very brave.  Her name is Hope.  Hope needs to overcome her dad going into the military.  She was scared that he'd get hurt.  I would recommend this book to people that like suspense!

This book was amazing because Josefina saves lives and she is a 9 year old!  The story Happy Birthday, Josefina! takes place in the 1824. Josefina has a problem. Sombrita was about to die from a rattle snake bite.   Josefina picked up Sombrita and Mariana threw a rock at the snake, but she missed. The snake put its fangs on her, and bites her. Josefina threw the rock and the snake died. I recommend this book for people who would like to be a doctor. In this book Josefina leans how to save lives.

In this book, Corey goes to school and enjoys life knowing he is free from slavery .This book takes place on April 19, 1859 when the past weeks for Corey’s family have been very busy.  One of the problems Corey tries to overcome is from when he was a slave long ago he has to change his whole life and forget the past.  If you’re interested in history, this is the book for you.

This book is a cool and    awesome book .The time in  history  was   1848.   The McCullough   family  is  on  the trail to  Oregon.   One problem   that  Josh  the main character,  needs to overcome  is  to  stop  being  afraid  on  the trail  to Oregon.  Many  people  died.  If  you  like  historical  fiction  this  might  be   the   book  for  you.

Meet Addy is a sad story with a happy ending.  Meet Addy takes place in the past in 1864 during the Civil war.  The people in Addy’s  family are slaves, and they got split up.  They don’t have freedom.  If you want to learn more about Addy and her path to freedom you should read the American Girls series about Addy.

My book was very extraordinary.  My book takes place in 1868 during the Great Race to build the transcontinental railroad.  One problem the main character, whose name is Libby West, needs to overcome is judging people by the way they look before she gets to know them.  I recommend this book for people who like to read the diaries in the Dear America series.

This book to me is an interesting book about Kaya. Kaya is a Native American girl. This story takes place in 1764.  White settlers are just coming to America.  A problem that Kaya needs to overcome is to learn not to disobey her mother.  She has to always be kind other people if she wanted to be leader.  I think my grandmother would like this book because she loves to learn new stuff about history.

This book is a good book to read because you learn about local history. It takes place in 1789 in the big  snowy forests of the Adirondacks.  The colonists wanted to separate from England and form the U.S.A.  Chingachkook needs to deal with the war.  His side of the war is going to win.  If you like history you will like this book.  The setting is in our area.

Laura Ingalls Wilder is a fabulous writer. I like her first book the best because it basically describes how it feels to be a pioneer. Also, it tells about all the things you would have to do. Little House in the Big Woods takes place in the pioneer days. It was rough back then. Laura and her family live in a log cabin. How would you feel if you lived in the middle of nowhere and had no friends? Laura also has a big sister Mary. She also has her ma and pa. I like pa the best because he always plays his fiddle, tells stories, and makes toys for the girls. My favorite story was "The Story of Grandpa and the Pig." My favorite part of the book was when all of the cousins came over for Christmas. The cousins’ names were Alice, Ella, and Peter. Also, Aunt Elizabeth and Uncle Peter came. I think people who like learning about pioneers would like this book.

This book is not that interesting but it teaches you about history.  This story takes place long ago, in the 1800`s it is during pioneer days.  Laura needs to overcome being sad without her dog.  Jack died and she really wanted him back.  If you like books about history you will like this book.

This book is great to read because it tells some facts about 1934. The book tells some things about sharing houses with friends.  The time in history the book takes place is in 1934 during the Great Depression. People had no money.  Kit doesn't like the tree house. She described it as clunky and awkward. She said to Ruthie, "This is awful." One night she saw a light flicker and she went in the tree house and started to like it.  If you like tree houses you would like this book.

My America: We Are Patriots-Hope's Revolutionary War Diary,reviewed by Alison S.

I love this book because it tells you about the Revolutionary War.  It's very exciting. This book takes place in Pennsylvania, in 1777 (January through December).  One of the problems that Hope has is trying to forget about her brother and dad fighting in the war.  She misses them, and she is worried about them.  I recommend this book to people who want to learn about history. If you want to learn more about American history, then this will be an AWESOME book for you.

This book was interesting because I learned what it was like to be a pioneer kid.  This story is about a pioneer family and it takes place in 1871 in Wisconsin.  Laura slapped her sister Mary because she was jealous of  Mary's golden hair and that she only had brown.  Laura's dad told Laura that he had brown hair and Laura realized that brown hair wasn't so bad.  If you like a book about family life in the 1870's then you would like this book.

This  book is about a very brave boy who had to do a lot of dangerous things for his freedom.  The story takes place in Kentucky from 1857-1858.  Corey and his mom escaped from slavery on the Hart farm and  survived the difficult journey along the Underground Railroad.  If you like My America books, then this is the book for you.

Tonight on the Titanic is an adventurous book. It takes place April 14, 1912. A problem is the sinking Titanic. The Titanic hit an iceberg and started sinking. This is a great book to read. I think Henry and Ribsy is a funny book because Ribsy ate a police officers sandwich. This story takes place in the present time. One problem is that Henry's friend Scooter does not think Henry will catch a chinook. I recommend this book to people who like a good, funny story.

Faraway Summer is an adventurous book because Dossi is going to Vermont. Her sister signed her up on The Fresh Air Fund. That means Dossi will leave New York City and go to Jenco,Vermont for two weeks. This story takes place in the summer of 1910. Dossi needs to overcome the nervousness of going to Vermont to live with an unknown family for two weeks. I recommend this book to people who like adventurous books.

Saving Grace is an amazing book about a girl named Grace. In 1908~1995 Grace and her brothers Pete, Iggy, and Owen, plus her parents live in a small house. Grace's family is very poor so grace and her brothers get sent to the mission. For Christmas, Grace gets sent to the Hammond's house with nice clothes, food, and a new best friend Jhona. When Pete gets sick she decides to give him his marbles in order to make him feel better. Will she be adopted by the Hammonds or not? I recommend this book to a girl who cares!!
