Kit is an awesome girl. She is smart too. The time the story takes place is in the early 1930's. That was a hard time. Many people didn't have jobs. One of the problems Kit needs to overcome is that she hit Mrs. Howard with the door. She broke one of her tea cups. If you like the American Girl collection you're going to like this book.These books teach us about history.
