Karate Countdown, reviewed by Preeti S.

This book is very motivating and is about karate.  The main character`s name is Kenny.   Kenny is always frustrated and mad because his mother died.   Kenny started karate and Sensei told him that there is a tournament coming up.   Kenny did not feel ready.   I think anybody who likes karate would   like this book.

I Love Gymnastics, reviewed by Laurel A.

This book is about girls in gymnastics who do forward rolls and other kinds of activities.  There is not a main character but in the first paragraph it tells about Jessica and then it talks about other girls who do things in gymnastics.  Jessica does really not have a challenge, but you should always be careful in gymnastics never to force yourself.  If you like gymnastics you will like this book.

Swimming with Sharks Reviewed by Allissa D.

This book is really awesome because there are a lot of fun adventures. One example is when Rita’s friend Jazz gave Rita a nose plug because when she tried to do flip turns water went up her nose .In a competition, Rita forgot the nose plug  and did it without it. This book is about swimming and being true to yourself. The main character is Rita. I would describe her as a very hopeful girl. One challenge the main character faces is that her times are not fast enough to swim for the shark’s team. She’s a dolphin, In order to be a shark she also has to learn flip turns, but that is not easy for her. This book is for people that like swimming.  It is a really hopeful story about trying hard to achieve your goal, even when it gets rough.

Casey At The Bat reviewed by Jackson P.

If I gave a descriptive adjective for the picture poem Casey at the Bat, it would be interesting.  Casey is a good baseball player.  He is cool, and he is well known because the crowd kept  cheering when he stepped on the plate at the field.  At first, Casey couldn’t  hit the baseball , then he hit it , and he got out.   I would recommend  this book to my cousin Hayden because he plays and loves baseball.

White Water Courage, reviewed by Isabella F.

Board Rebel, Chase Z.

This sports book is about a kid that is trying to get a skateboard park in his neighborhood. Tanner is fearless and he acts like a dare devil.  He also never gives up.  The challenge Tanner faces is that there is a rule saying no skateboarding in his city.  He really wants a place to skateboard.  I would recommend this book to a person that loves skateboarding in a skateboard park.  There's one in Clifton Park near the mall!

Swimming with Sharks, reviewed by Anna G.

This book is a sports book based on swimming. It was a book about the main character who puts forth her best effort. This book is about a girl named Rita. She is on the dolphin team, but all her best friends are on the sharks team. The sharks are better swimmers. Rita faces the challenge that she has to learn how to do a flip turn. If she learns how to do it, then she can be on the sharks team. I recommend this book for people who like to swim. It teaches you about practicing and never giving up.

Goof Off Goalie, reviewed by Anne G.

My book was very funny.  When you play soccer, you have to work with your team to try to get the ball into the other team’s net.  The main character, whose name is Goose, is very goofy, lazy, and he doesn't pay attention in class.  The challenge that Goose has to face is being a goalie at a soccer game.  Goose doesn’t know if he’ll goof off during the game.  A goalie has to always be focused.  I recommend this book for people that like to read about fictional characters that do sports.

BMX BULLY, reviewed by Jonah .P

I think this is an interesting book and the sport is racing with BMX  bikes.  The main character is a curious kid. His name is Matt . He rides bikes in the BMX challenge. He is good at it.  Matt faces a problem with a bully named Tyler in bike racing.  Matt tries to win but Tyler keeps on pushing him over.  If you like reading books that have sports in them , you will like BMX Bully.

Ice Magic,reviewed by Justin. M

Hot Shot, reviewed by Jared D

Hot Shot is about a boy that plays on a good basketball team. Then he moves and doesn't like his new basketball team. Later he learns to like it. Julian is a 13 year old boy that makes lots of friends and is very respectful. He was the star center of his team the Tornados. The challenges Julian faced were moving and changing basketball teams. What Julian didn't like about his basketball team was the coach and his son. Julian didn't like riding the pine, the bench. I would recommend this book to third graders and older boys who like sports.
