This book is about a girl named Ruby Bridges. She was a black girl. The book is during a time that black people could not go to the same places as white people. She was the first black girl to go to an all white school. If the president did not decide that Ruby Bridges could go to the white school, you might not be in a school that welcomes all children today! Ruby was brave.
