The Rough Face Girl, reviewed by Bianca B.

This book is a fairytale because in this book a girl is forced by her sisters to sit by the fire and keep it burning. When she was doing that all the sparks from the fire all went at her and that is why she is called the rough face girl. In this story there was a village by the shores of Lake Ontario. That was where the rough face girl lived. But far away, back in the forest, was a wigwam. (A wigwam was what they lived in.) In the wigwam was an invisible man. His older sister would sit outside of the wigwam and if anyone wanted to marry the invisible man she would give them a test. The rough faced girl's sisters went to the wigwam of the invisible man. The mother of the invisible man gave them her test. They failed and were sent home. Then the rough faced girl tried. She passed the test and married the invisible man. A lesson I learned was that it doesn't matter how pretty you are. You should just try your best.
